Art Director
Location: Boston, MA

This is a hybrid position that requires regular presence at the Boston office and Boston studio. Candidates must be based within commuting distance of Boston, or willing to relocate promptly. While we always appreciate the opportunity to connect with qualified candidates, kindly do not apply if you cannot meet these requirements.

Tracksmith is looking for an Art Director to help elevate and strengthen our brand imagery. The ideal candidate has an extended background in graphic design (digital and print) and typography and a solid understanding of film and photography both in the studio and on-location. You’ll need to be proactive and curious, finding creative solutions that extend beyond the brief, while also being able to design within an established brand identity system. Working closely with the different departments at Tracksmith and reporting directly to the Creative Director, you will help showcase, explore and shape running culture.

Tracksmith is a nimble team of highly motivated and productive individuals. It is a fast-paced environment with high expectations across the organization. However, we put a strong focus on quality – both the quality of what we produce and the quality of life for our employees. This is a full-time position, based in Boston, that reports to the Creative Director, but also works closely with other departments and brand partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, plan and execute brand campaigns.
  • Collaborate with the creative team to articulate and execute impactful campaigns across multiple mediums on time and within budget.
  • Carry complex design work from brief to finished product, using independent judgment, creativity and resolve.
  • Present concepts and finished work to key stakeholders, managing and implementing feedback.
  • Help plan and execute studio and on-location photoshoots, ensuring brand guidelines are reflected across all outputs.

Requirements

You have continuously proven yourself academically, personally and professionally, and have succeeded in demanding, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments. You have over 5+ years design experience at an agency or premium consumer brand, and an education in graphic design or similar. An expertise in typography, color and image is paramount as well as a keen sense of style and passion for the sport – all to be demonstrated through a well curated portfolio. You have in-depth knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite. An understanding of video editing software is a bonus.

About Tracksmith

Our office and flagship retail store are located at 285 Newbury Street in Boston’s historic Back Bay neighborhood. We host group workouts for all ability levels on Wednesdays (track session) and Sundays (long run), followed by recovery snacks and beverages on the roof deck. Our space is bright, airy and distinct, filled with bright, ambitious and original thinkers. We’re always looking for great talent and welcome candidates from all backgrounds. We strive to create an environment that is focused on inclusion, equality, empowerment and respect.
