Introducing Tracksmith Stamata — a women’s marathon team led by 8-time Olympic Trials qualifier Stephanie Bruce, working towards their dreams of qualifying for the 2028 Marathon Trials.
Drawn from across the country, these women have built a powerful sense of community — supporting one another through the highs and lows of training while balancing careers, motherhood, and the pursuit of something extraordinary.

Follow Their Journey
Our women will be posting all their training on Strava, and we’ll be documenting their stories on Instagram. We also will be releasing a 3-part docu-series "Chasing 2:37" in early 2026.

The OTQ
The Marathon Trials are the ultimate goal for serious runners across the country — most of them amateurs balancing careers, families, and everyday life. For the Stamata team, qualifying isn’t just about racing; it’s about joining the top tier of American marathoners. In spring and fall, the team focuses on a target race, turning the pursuit of the sub-2:37:00 OTQ into a shared journey. In 2025, that journey leads to the California International Marathon.
Training and Bonding
Twice a year, the Stamata women come together for training camps that are as much about connection as they are about building fitness. Laughter, shared challenges, and lasting friendships make the hard work feel lighter — and the victories even sweeter.
Mentorship
At the heart of the team is Stephanie Bruce, 8-time Olympic Trials qualifier. She is a mentor and race-day pacer, guiding the team with experience, strategy, and encouragement. Under her leadership, every woman has the support to reach her personal best — and the confidence to chase it together.
The Namesake
The marathon was one of 43 events of the Athens Games in 1896. At the starting line, a Greek woman named Stamata Revithi was denied a chance to run with the field of men. The next day, she ran the full course alone, finishing in 5 hours, 30 minutes. Although unofficial, Stamata was the first woman to complete the marathon distance.
