Opt for an un-embellished version or from one of three team-inspired designs on the front and back of the jacket.

Badge Of Honor

There are a few pieces of apparel that we acquire over the course of our running careers that we’d never part with–our first racing singlet, a well-loved sweatshirt and our team jacket. These jackets, given to eager freshmen at the beginning of the season, had a specific aesthetic comprised of team colors and logos. Our favorites were made by Boathouse in Philadelphia, so we collaborated with them to craft four unique Tracksmith versions of their classic team jacket.

Range Of Motion

The Boathouse Jacket originated in rowing–where it was beloved for its water-resistant shell and orbital shoulder gussets that provided a full range of motion for the rowing stroke. Ours retains the classic silhouette in a lightweight and highly breathable shell, with our 2:09 Mesh lining and an open cape for ventilation.

The Cross Country Boathouse Jacket features an embroidered back.

Statement Of
Intention

The Boathouse Jacket features different pieces of insignia inspired by classic team offerings. Pick your preference or go without.

Made In Philly

In the 1970s, a U.S. National Team rower named Hugh Stevenson coveted the water-repellent jackets worn by members of the Russian crew racing in Lucerne, Switzerland. So he negotiated a trade – one pair of American blue jeans for one jacket – and brought the piece back to his home in Philadelphia to try and replicate it. From there, the seeds for Boathouse were planted. Today, the team still crafts performance outerwear from their factory in North Philadelphia. Together, we developed the concept for a Tracksmith update on their classic pullover, retaining the technical properties that make this jacket a perennial winner from the Schuylkill River to Franklin Park, and adding our signature aesthetic details.
