Little Symbols

For our enamel pins, we selected a few of our favorite symbols from the banana, a runner’s staple, to our Eliot hare and our classic logo lockup. Pin them on a jacket, bag or hat and let people know where your allegiance lies.

What’s in A Pin

Like many small items, it can be easy to overlook the history of the enamel pin. What a mistake that would be! Enamel jewelry is thought to date back to 1300 B.C.E, as evidenced by inlaid rings found in Mycenaean and Egyptian tombs. The technique was refined by the Byzantines jewelers, while Chinese artisans of the Yuan Dynasty were the first to make enamel pins in the 13th and 14th century C.E. In Europe, lapel pins were worn as a way to signify religious, political or military affiliation and were donned by soldiers in battle from the Revolutionary War until WWI.
