A BOSTON TREASURE

Held each year since 1897, Boston is the oldest marathon in the world, and remains one of the most distinct and idiosyncratic in so many ways. Particularly in that it’s the only marathon to require a qualification time. Indeed for many runners, the BQ sets the very highest standard.

So we raised the standard of our 2017 BQ Singlet. Made from our new Bravio Blend, an Italian engineered mesh that's breathable, quick-drying and cool against your skin, you'll barely feel it as you charge up Heartbreak Hill.

We added a subtle print of tonal Eliot hares on the ivory body and our signature sash is done in a navy satin. It's a testament to your achievement and a singlet you'll treasure long after you cross the finish line on Boylston.

THE COURSE

26.2 MILES OF PERSONALITY

The point-to-point Boston course running from rural Hopkinton through Ashland, Framingham, Natick, Wellesley, Newton, Brookline and finally concluding on Boylston near Copley Square is a route flush with tradition and history. The scream tunnel at Wellesley where runners steal kisses from the college girls. The hills of Newton culminating with Heartbreak Hill where Boston legend Johnny Kelly gave Ellison Brown a patronizing pat on the back as he overtook him, only to lose to Brown that day, hence breaking his heart. The right on Hereford and the left on Boylston and on to the home stretch. Each mile of Boston bears thousands of stories. As a Boston Qualifier, your story will be part of it.
