A Tracksmith x Forestbound collaboration built in New England.
A Forestbound Original
We met Alice Saunders, founder of Forestbound, at one of our earliest Boston Marathon pop-ups. Together we dreamed up the design for this 18oz water-repellent canvas tote bag for runners. Handcrafted with leather straps and bottom and two thoughtfully placed pockets, this is a tote that will only get better with age.

Built To Last
Forestbound’s canvas and leather bags are designed for versatility - durable enough to withstand the abuse of the daily commute and big enough to handle a full weekend’s worth of gear. Ours is 22” wide and 14” tall, with an interior pocket to fit a 15” laptop and an exterior pocket for smaller items. As Alice describes it, this is “A timeless, non-fussy bag that will wear in beautifully."
Nothing is worse than hunting through a bag for an essential. Our tote features a large interior pocket that can hold a laptop or stash running shoes. Outside, we included a second smaller pocket for keys or a cellphone.
Alice Saunders started Forestbound in 2007 and operates a small studio in Somerville - a quick 5k across the Charles River from the Trackhouse. There you can find her designing, cutting and sewing her bags and carryalls from salvaged textiles. A dedicated marathoner, when she’s not in the studio Alice scours the Northeast for unique and storied textiles that she thoughtfully re-works into something new, beautiful and yet fully utilitarian. In her passion for craftsmanship and quality, Alice embodies the spirit upon which Tracksmith was founded. We sat down with her to discuss her process and approach to running.
