A NEW STANDARD
Each year since 2014 we've released a BQ Singlet - reserved for Boston qualifiers. This year we dialed up the marathon performance details. Cut from our lightweight Bravio Blend (the same fabric used in our Twilight Collection), BQ '18 features bonded seams and sublimated printing. The result is a singlet that’s as honed as you are on race day.
The Tracksmith BQ Singlet is reserved only for those who’ve both qualified and registered for the 2018 Marathon. Quantities are limited.
The 2018 BQ Singlet is made from a micro-polyester and elastane blend that’s lightweight (115 grams/square meter), antimicrobial, soft against the skin, and stretches and recovers to match your stride. This Italian engineered material is made on special high-gauge knitting equipment that creates small pointelle holes, which improves airflow and allows the fabric to dry more quickly.
Race day details matter. We kept all of our signatures, from the Cornell-inspired sash to the BQ insignia. But rather than sewing and flocking these elements on top of the fabric, we employed a technique called sublimation to print them directly onto the singlet. It preserves the aesthetic while reducing the weight and chance of chafing.
26.2 MILES OF PERSONALITY
The point-to-point Boston course running from rural Hopkinton through Ashland, Framingham, Natick, Wellesley, Newton, Brookline and finally concluding on Boylston near Copley Square is a route flush with tradition and history. The scream tunnel at Wellesley where runners steal kisses from the college girls. The hills of Newton culminating with Heartbreak Hill where Boston legend Johnny Kelly gave Ellison Brown a patronizing pat on the back as he overtook him, only to lose to Brown that day, hence breaking his heart. The right on Hereford and the left on Boylston and on to the home stretch. Each mile of Boston bears thousands of stories. As a Boston Qualifier, your story will be part of it.
