Inspired by the idiosyncratic style one of running’s greats, the Emil Shawl brings a functional flair for the unexpected to a Merino wool blend that stays warm and light even in tough conditions. Button up the shawl collar for the first few frosty miles and then loosen things up as the cold dissolves.

A New Kind of Shawl
We envisioned a cold-weather top that would deliver peak performance without compromising style. The shawl collar lends the silhouette of this top layer a distinctly timeless profile that makes it ready to wear for a warm up, long run, or post-race meal. Merino wool fibers from New Zealand provide all the tech necessary, with breathable warmth that wicks away sweat, combats wind, and protects against odor.
Panache with Purpose
Unfold and button-up the rounded shawl collar to gracefully fend off frost, or unbutton and roll it down for added breathability.
Pockets on Pockets
The front kangaroo pocket is primed for sliding cold hands into before and after the run. An inner pocket stows a cell phone, keys or credit card.
Wool For All Conditions
We selected a textured jacquard knit that delivers a sophisticated look and superior performance. A blend of 81% Merino and 19% polyester naturally delivers warmth, breathability and odor resistance.
To Find How Far
Emil Zatopek, a Czechoslovakian Olympian who won gold in the 5k, 10k, and marathon at the 1952 Helsinki Games, combined nontraditional training with an unquenchable curiosity to see how far he could push himself. Inspired by the shawl silhouette of Zatopek’s winter training gear, the Emil Shawl offers the versatile coverage you need to get out the door in any weather, so you can log your miles like the man who was known for running (sometimes in combat boots) until he collapsed. While we can’t fully endorse every single one of his training techniques, we do hope the Emil Shawl helps you embody his indefatigable spirit.
